A BRIEF HISTORY OF: ABUNDANT LIFE CENTER

Looking back to the many years of Abundant Life Center (ALC), I can attribute the many blessings that we enjoy today to being sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and the words that God has dropped into my heart.

On of those times when God dropped a word into my heart was June 7, 1980, when I was on a missionary trip to Madras, India.
On that day the Lord chose me to the pastoral by a word of prophecy by Evangelist-Charles Doss.  At that time ALC did not exist.  I said yes to God thinking I had plenty of time to prepare myself.  I would go to Bible School, get my minister's license and be well prepared when the time would come.  Little did I know that eight months later Abundant Life Center (ALC) would be born.  On February 8, 1981, ALC came into existence and that is when Isaiah 55:8, took hold of me with meaning, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord".

ALC was born through home meetings; for three months we met in two different homes.   The homes were filled to capacity and again the Lord used Evangelist-Charles Doss, to bring a  "Thus saith the Lord."  The word was: "Move to Maryvale." 
We moved from the home meetings to a building that God provided by divine providence; located at 59th Ave and Thomas Road. We stayed at this location for three years.  During this time God blessed ALC, in a very special way.  I had a very supportive staff, good leaders, a dedicated congregation, a budget that was being met and church growth.

But then God said: "Move".  The owner of the building came and told us we had 30 days to move out.  I must confess, for a while I questioned God, as to why we must move.  We were in a good location, the church was growing, everything was running smooth, so why must we move?  Once again I remembered, Isaiah 55:8.

On February 1984, we moved from that building to Barry Byron Elementary School where we met for six weeks.  During that time we prayed, fasted and searched for a new building. 
Finally on April 1, 1984, we came to this present location, where we are today; 3535 N 63rd Ave. When the staff and I saw this location, we knew it was of God.  We purchased the property, which consisted of 4.2 acres of land with a church building of 250 seating capacity.

God was not done, again he spoke to my heart and birth in me to build a multi-purpose building, which would be use a sanctuary, with a seating capacity of 500 and the building was to be used for various functions, such as youth activities, concerts, banquets, etc.;
In June 19,2004 we move into the new multi-purpose building and God continues to bless us.

We want to extend a special invitation to all of you, to come and join us worship our Lord Jesus Christ together on Sundays and Wednesday.
